Rick and Kristin Cheek |
After 30 years behind the chair, Rick Cheek decided it was time to focus his passion and talent elsewhere. His vision
includes service excellence and the growth of his staff
members as well as his establishment.
An AVEDA salon was the first and only choice from the beginning. Because of
AVEDA’s mission to create an industry of beauty and wellness by sourcing through
indigenous cultures, Rick knew this was a great opportunity to let everyone
know his mission.
When Rick and his wife, Kris, began their journey to open their new salon, they
wanted a natural, earth-friendly name. While searching through books on botanicals,
they learned about Lemongrass. While further researching Lemongrass they discovered
that it is grown and cultivated commercially in Guatemala. Guatemala is already close
to their hearts, as it is the native land of their two adopted children. This was
the perfect match.
Rick's passion drove him to open his own salon where he could express his
heart and soul's work and his children’s story. On August 20, 2007 he opened his dream at University Park Village in Fort Worth. In November of 2009 he announced the purchase of his second Lemongrass location in Southlake.
